DG Shipping Medical Examination – Overview
The Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), Government of India, mandates medical fitness examinations for all seafarers before joining a vessel and periodically thereafter. These examinations are conducted only by approved medical examiners registered under the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000.
